This blog is being attacked by spammers. In an attempt to address this problem, all of Charles’ posts were accidentally and irretrievably deleted. What remains has limited value and as such the entire blog will soon be shut down. I hope it has served a purpose during the time it ran.

Password Restricted Access

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

To protect from the chance of crossing the line from appropriate comments on personal life in Iraq to material that may be deemed sensitive information under an increased level of scrutiny, the entries on this blog are password protected so they are not viewable by the general public.

To obtain the current password, contact the author’s wife, who will serve as dispenser of the password. PLEASE, DO NOT PASS THE PASSWORD ON TO ANYONE ELSE; the author’s wife should be the only source of the password. If it is suspected that the password is being widely circulated (such as by studying the logs of the sites usage), the password will need to be changed, but that is a lot of hassle for everybody.

Entering the password once will enable all the posts for viewing on that particular computer, so this extra step shouldn’t be a big problem.

Please note that Charles will probably not be posting anymore on this site until he returns to the ‘States’  (see Charles’ note from May 7, 2007), so unless you are a new reader or want to check back on a previous posting, you may not need to get the password.

Signing off – for now …

(Charles sent this to me to post for him. Please note his instructions on contacting him for the duration of his service, as he is sure to appreciate hearing from you. – Ron)

Hi There,

I hope that all of you reading this blog are doing well and enjoying life.  I will need to stop posting on this site for awhile until I return from combat.  The Army is beginning to crack down on blog sites written by soldiers who are in combat zones.  Last month a directive came out that states that if we are posting any sensitive information on a blog site it must be approved by our supervisor before posting it.  There are some gray areas in this statement but even though I have enjoyed journaling for you events here (and receiving notes from you in return) I think it would be wise to halt my postings for awhile.  I expect to return to the States in September.  Please check this site again at that time and I will fill you in on what took place here this summer.  I can still send personal e-mails out and if you would like to hear from me once in awhile then please write me at charles.causey [insert ampersand (@); no spaces] us.army.mil so I will have your e-mail address on my military account [if you e-mail the Army account then please don’t forward messages or send attachments because there is limited space on it].  I will try to continue to give occasional updates in this manner throughout the rest of my time here.  All of you who read this blog are welcome to e-mail me.

I will also pass on prayer requests through my wife to give to Harvest Church so that our local church can continue to be in prayer for the ministry here.  My friend Ron who helps me with this blog also manages our church web site  www.HarvestHugo.com which updates prayer requests and special events going on with the church for the communities of Forest Lake, Hugo, Scandia and Centerville [Minnesota].

Please continue to be in prayer for the soldiers, their marriages and their families.  Please also pray for our leaders.

Very Respectfully,
CH Charles Causey
Baghdad, Iraq

“Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.  So then do not be foolish, but understand what t he will of the Lord is.  And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father.”  Ephesians 5:15-20
